Kimberley Dixon

Kimberley Dixon, LPC, trauma and EMDR counselor at Mental Health Center of America in Arizona

Kimberley Dixon, MScC (Hon/CSI), LPC is a senior-level Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 25 years of experience working with adults 18 and older. Kimberley treats the full range of mental health conditions, with a specialization in trauma and PTSD using EMDR.

Inspiration

Coming from a family of nurses, Kimberley was inspired to help others from a young age. She found herself drawn to disorders of the brain and to helping people on a deeper level, which led her to a career in mental health counseling.

Education

Kimberley holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, with honors, from Walden University. She is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and can provide faith-based therapy upon request.

After graduation, Kimberley began working as a mental health therapist in addiction and co-occurring disorders treatment, where she saw that most of her patients were also living with trauma. That led her to train in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Today she is a trauma-informed therapist with EMDR as her primary modality, an approach that has also been shown to be highly effective for depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.

Professional History

Over the last 25 years, Kimberley has earned the respect of her Arizona and Canadian patients through her dedication, trustworthiness, humor, and warm approach. Kimberley practices at Mental Health Center of America’s Glendale, Arizona clinic and sees patients virtually across Arizona.

Kimberley has specialized training and experience in working with first responders and in psychedelic-assisted therapy (including ketamine-assisted therapy), and is currently completing Military Green Seal certification to serve veterans and service members.
