General Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) For Adolescents and Adults
At Mental Health Center of America (AZDHS – Licensed Out-Patient Treatment), our IOP in Phoenix and Mesa offers a flexible, supportive path to mental health treatment. Our Adolescent and Adult programs are designed for those who need full service care but do not need higher level of treatment such as hospitalization and residential services. Our IOP helps you balance treatment with daily life.
An IOP at MHCA is a total of 8 weeks. Our IOP group sessions are 3 hours in length and take place 4 days per week, Mon – Thurs. Group times are conveniently offered early evening, 4pm – 7pm, or late morning, 9am – noon.

Who We Help
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is ideal for adolescents (13 – 17), young adults (18+) and adults (35+) who are experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. An IOP at MHCA may be helpful for people who may need consistent support and want to address challenges before they become more severe or for anyone enduring potential life challenges or setbacks (work difficulties, relational conflicts, etc.) that are a direct result of their current mental health symptoms.

What to Expect

Initial Assessment
Your journey with our IOP in Phoenix or Mesa begins with a comprehensive assessment where our clinicians meet with you to understand your needs, challenges, and goals. We strive to create a personalized IOP treatment plan that is customized to your unique situation and gives you the strongest opportunity to reach or surpass your treatment goals.

Customized Treatment Plan
Based on your initial assessment, we create a treatment plan that may include individual counseling, group therapy, neurofeedback, psychiatric services (medication), and wellness therapies (Red Light Therapy, Cold Water Therapy, Heat Therapy). Our licensed interdisciplinary clinical team of Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Counselors, and more, work together to provide quality, flexible, and affordable treatment.

Progress Monitoring
Throughout your IOP, our Doctorate level Clinical Psychologist and your personal treatment team regularly meet to evaluate and optimize your treatment. Our Phoenix and Mesa clinicians adjust your plan as needed to ensure you’re moving toward your mental health goals. Our team of licensed clinicians make adjustments based on your progress to ensure you are continuously achieving your mental health goals.
