Zeina Naoum, PsyD, MPH, is a post-doctoral resident who works with people across the lifespan in a collaborative way to assure they are living to their fullest potential focusing on recognition of strengths and supports. Zeina believes in tailoring treatment and interventions to each individual person and helping them feel in control of their healing journey of both their mind and body.

Inspiration

Zeina was motivated by her personal interest in health and wellness to pursue psychology. She always believed in the mind and body connection; without one, the other seizes to exist. In addition to her holistic approach, Zeina believes in the power of connection and developing relationships that has helped her in this line of work.

Education

Zeina holds a doctorate in clinical and school psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University in addition to a master’s degree in public health from Purdue University.

Professional History

Over the last four years, Zeina has trained in both community mental health and private practice settings. In both settings, she has provided psychotherapy in addition to a broad range of assessments including cognitive, academic, achievement, and personality tests. Zeina’s research has included a phenomenological approach in investigating the experiences of teachers of color undergoing antiracist curriculum training along with researching menarche across cultures. She cares to work provide collaborative care for those she works with integrating many different cultural perspectives and norms. 

Awards and Recognition

Zeina has been published in the Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care for co-authoring Contextualizing reproductive decision making in Florence, Italy: A qualitative study.

Personal Interests

When Zeina is not busy at Mental Health Center of America, she enjoys teaching lagree at a studio in Scottsdale. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time with her fiancé and friends, combining two of her favorite things… eating and people. Exploring Arizona and the west coast has been exciting for her as she is an east coast native and has found a love for hiking but more than anything long walks under the Phoenix sun.
