Emily Lyon, PA-C is a Physician Assistant who works with adults and teenagers to improve their mental health, and therefore hopes to improve her patient’s quality of life. Emily understands that mental health is an incredibly powerful component of a person’s wellbeing that impacts a person’s daily life, especially when someone is struggling and needs more support and care.
Inspiration
Emily was first drawn to psychiatric care by her experience with adults recovering from major hospitalizations and health condition changes in a skilled nursing facility. This helped her understand that it was often the emotional challenges that were the most difficult to recover from. Emily also feels very strongly that patients should have a bigger voice in the discussion of their care and that it is only through collaboration between providers and patients that the best path to improved health can be achieved. She feels this collaboration is particularly important in psychiatric care.
