Dr. Jack Deeming

Jack Deeming, PsyD, is a post doctoral resident who works with adults dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. Jack knows that both introspection and engaging in meaningful relationships are equally vital aspects of a life well lived. He believes in combining pragmatic behavioral solutions, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and emotional support to help clients in their ongoing mental health journey.

Jack was motivated by a personal interest in exploring the intersection of psychology and philosophy. He was inspired to become a psychologist to further understand what makes life meaningful for individuals, and to help others find ways to embrace their day to day experience.

Jack holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Midwestern University. He completed his doctoral internship at Catholic Charities, St. Raphael Counseling, in Denver, Colorado. There, he gained firsthand experience providing existentially-oriented psychotherapy and sex addiction counseling.

Professional History

Before attending graduate school, Jack worked at an inpatient rehabilitation center treating drug and alcohol abuse, as well as co-occurring disorders. In the past four years, Jack has worked with primarily adults performing psychotherapy and psychological assessments, including neuro-cognitive, fit-for-duty, and personality evaluations. He has worked with outpatient clients in community mental health settings, non-profit organizations, and private practice. Jack’s dissertation research involved a critical literature review exploring the conceptualization and relevance of free will in the field of psychology.

Personal Interests

When he is not busy helping clients at Mental Health Center of America, Jack enjoys spending time with family and friends. He can frequently be found rock climbing or hiking with his dog, Logan.
